SEATTLE – The Seattle University Redhawks will stay at home for the final regular season match of the year, hosting Senior Day against Portland State on April 4 at the Amy Yee Tennis Center. That will be the final match before the Western Athletic Conference Tournament, which begins April 17 in Arlington, Texas.

If weather permits, the match will be played outside at 10:00 am. If it rains, the match will be played at 9:00 am in Amy Yee Tennis Center.

The Redhawks will be honoring seven seniors during the Portland State match. Michael Frank, Oliver Hall, Jayden Harrison, Veselin Kiselkov, Dario Ristovski, Jun Sasagawa, and Filip Stipic will all be honored for their contributions to Seattle U over the years.

Seattle U last played at home in early February. During that homestand, the Redhawks earned a 4-3 win over Sacramento State. The duo of Yuan Lu and Yu-Han Hsieh went undefeated in that match, winning their doubles match together and winning each of their singles matches individually. Lu and Hsieh were honored as the WAC Doubles Players of the Week for that performance, with Lu also earning Singles Player of the Week.

While the Redhawks have not played Portland State in a dual match this year, a number of Redhawks and Vikings faced off at the Pacific Northwest Invitational earlier this year. In that tournament, Frank and Hsieh earned singles wins against the Vikings. The duo of Stipic and Sasagawa earned a doubles win, while Frank and Hall went 2-0 in doubles play against Portland State. Dario Ristovski also earned a singles win over Portland State earlier in the year, at the ITA Northwest Regionals.

Seattle U is 1-1 in dual matches against Portland State over the last two seasons. Last year, Portland State came out on top, 4-3. Stipic and Kiselkov earned singles points in that match. The duos of Hsieh/Stipic and Julian Worn/Frank won doubles matches.

In 2023, it was the Redhawks taking a 5-2 win over the Vikings. The doubles duos of Hsieh/Stipic and Worn/Frank once again came out victorious, while in singles play, current Redhawks Hsieh, Frank, and Kiselkov all won their matches.
