PORTLAND - The Seattle University Redhawks faced off with the Portland Pilots in Portland on Sunday, falling 0-7. That match was the midpoint of five straight matches of the road for the Redhawks, who will next play at home on April 4.
The doubles point went to Portland, which won on courts one and two. Veselin Kiselkov and Jayden Harrison did not have their match finish, trailing 3-5 at the time Portland clinched the doubles point. Kiselkov and Harrison remain undefeated in doubles play this spring, having teamed up for the first time last week, where they earned a 6-3 win over Eastern Washington.
Dario Ristovski took his singles match to three sets that included tiebreakers in both sets one and two. After winning set one 7-6 (7-5), Ristovski would fall 6-7 (2-7) and 4-10 in the final set. Michael Frank also had a three-set match, winning set two 6-1 before falling 5-10 in the deciding third set. This was the second match in a row where both Ristovski and Frank went three sets in their singles matches.
It will be another road trip next for the Redhawks, coming at the end of March. Seattle U will play Cal Poly and Grand Canyon, both on Grand Canyon's campus, on March 27 and 28.
