CHENEY, Wash. - It was a close-fought match between the Seattle University Redhawks and Eastern Washington Eagles, with Eastern Washington prevailing 4-3. The Redhawks won the doubles point and earned singles points from Veselin Kiselkov and Dario Ristovski but couldn't get the fourth point to seal the win.
Playing together in doubles for the first time this spring, Kiselkov and Jayden Harrison earned a 6-3 in in doubles on court three. Yuan Lu and Yu-Han Hsieh kept their strong pairing going with a 6-4 win, helping the Redhawks take an early 1-0 lead.
In singles play, it was Kiselkov and Ristovski who earned points for Seattle U. Playing on court three, Kiselkov had a commanding 6-0, 6-4 victory for the Redhawks. Ristovski's match went down to the wire: after winning set one 6-4, Ristovski lost set two 2-6. Set three would go into the tiebreaker, with Ristovski prevailing 10-6 to clinch a point.
Michael Frank's singles match also went to the tiebreaker in set three but went against the Redhawks. Frank would fall 2-6, 6-2, 6-10. Lu won his first set, 6-3, but would fall in sets two and three.
The Redhawks will only have one match next week: a road matchup against the Portland Pilots in Portland on March 9.
