PHOENIX, AZ - Seattle U baseball dropped their series opener with Grand Canyon, 0-10, Friday afternoon in Arizona.
The Redhawks were held scoreless in the match up, recording four hits on the night. Those hits were evenly distributed to Kenny Ishikawa, Jake Wagoner, Reese Harmon, and Tyler Peterson.
On the mound, the loss went to Blake Smith (0-3) after he went four innings and allowed four earned. Rafael Espinoza, Ryan Morrison, Patrick Galvin, Rowan Haynes, and Colin Curry all made relief appearances on the mound.
The loss drops the Redhawks to 9-16 on the season and to 1-3 in WAC play. They will look to even the series up in game two tomorrow, with Luke Alwood scheduled to make the start. Game two is set for a 6:00pm PT first pitch.
