SEATTLE - After snow disruptions at their last competition, the Seattle University Redhawks head to Hawai'i for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational. The Redhawks will be one of 17 teams at that competition, along with Oregon State, Fresno State, Sam Houston, BYU, Sacramento State, Washington, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Montana State, San Diego State, Arkansas State, Gonzaga, Denver, Mercer, UC Riverside, and host Hawai'i.

The Redhawks were last in action at the Red Rocks Invitational. That tournament was originally scheduled for 54 holes, only to be reduced to 18 holes spread across three days as snow forced postponements. Even with these conditions, the Redhawks thrived: Tsara Ralamboarison played her third-best collegiate round, finishing second overall and just one stroke off the tournament championship with a -2 under, 70. That performance helped Ralamboarison earn her first career WAC Player of the Week award. She joined Rivekka Jumagulova, Shayna Lu, and Aaryanna Morris as the current Redhawks to be so honored by the WAC.

Jumagulova also continued her strong season at the Red Rocks Invitational, shooting even-par with a 72. Jumagulova has had had a round worse than +2 over, 74 since round two of the season's opening competition, where she shot +4 over, 76. Jumagulova has been under par seven times in 18 rounds this year.

The Redhawks last competed in Hawai'i on 2023 at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic. Current Redhawks Jumagulova, Lu, Morris, and Maria Fedorowycz all competed there. Lu had Seattle U's best round, shooting a -1 under, 71 in round one of that competition.

The Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational will be the penultimate competition for the Redhawks before the Western Athletic Conference Championships begin postseason play on April 14. Seattle U hopes to replicate last year's end-of-season run: the Redhawks won both the Red Rocks Invitational and WAC Championships to end 2023-24, sandwiched between a second-place finish at the Bobcat Desert Classic.
