SEATTLE - In the first of two matches in eastern Washington, the Seattle University Redhawks fell 4-0 to the host Gonzaga Bulldogs. This was the first action for Seattle U since early February, when the Redhawks went 1-1 in back-to-back matches against Sacramento State and Oklahoma State. The Redhawks and Bulldogs faced off in January as well, with Gonzaga also winning that match.
Gonzaga captured the doubles point, winning on courts one and two. Veselin Kiselkov and Michael Frank extended their doubles undefeated streak to three matches. Today, that duo's match went unfinished.
Kiselkov led in his singles match on court two, winning set one 6-4 and leading in set two 3-0. That match would go unfinished as Gonzaga clinched their fourth point earlier.
Yuan Lu also had a tight singles match go unfinished. The freshman fell 6-7 in set one, then was all tied up 1-1 in set two when the overall match ended. Frank's singles match also went unfinished.
The Redhawks will be right back in action tomorrow as they head to Cheney, Washington to take on host Eastern Washington at 12:00 pm.
