SPOKANE - The Seattle University Redhawks couldn't quite pull out the road win, falling to the Gonzaga Bulldogs in Spokane 0-4. It was the second match in as many days for the Redhawks, who lost a close one 3-4 to Montana the day before.
Natalia Michta and Lamija Avdic continued their hot play in doubles, winning 6-1 on court one. That was the fourth consecutive win in doubles for that pairing.
In singles play, Larissa Teramura made it three straight undefeated matches, leading 7-5, 5-2 before her match ended unfinished as Gonzaga clinched its fourth point. Teramura earned wins in each of Seattle U's last two matches, against Montana and Portland State.
Daria Nazarenko had her singles match go unfinished as well but led in the third set. The sophomore, who earned a doubles win against Montana, led 6-4, 3-6, 3-2 in the deciding third set when the overall match ended. Michta's singles match also went unfinished, as the junior lost set one 3-6 and led 6-5 in set two at the end of the match.
Seattle U hits the road once more next weekend. First, the Redhawks take on Saint Mary's in Moraga, California on March 14. The next day, March 15, the Redhawks will play at Sacramento State.
