SEATTLE - With one meet in the books, the outdoor season will keep on rolling as the Seattle University Redhawks take part in the Oregon Preview, hosting by Oregon in Eugene. That meet will be spread across two days, beginning on March 21.

The Redhawks are a regular participant at the Oregon Preview, competing for the third consecutive year in that meet. Seattle U has taken part in at least one outdoor meet at Oregon for four straight years. This year, the Redhawks will compete in Eugene twice, at both the Oregon Preview and Oregon Twilight meets, with Oregon Twilight set for May 9. In all, the Redhawks make four trips to Oregon during this year's outdoor season.

Four current Redhawks etched their names in the record books at last year's Oregon Preview with new all-time top-ten times for Seattle U. Azalea Groleau had the second-fastest 5000m time in school history, a mark she bested just a few weeks later to set the all-time program record at 16:46.75. Lilianne Hargreaves had the fifth-fastest 1500m, a mark she also bested later that year to move up to second in Redhawk history. Manthita Wague and Zoe Tibbo had the seventh- and eighth-best long jumps in SU history as well. Both Wague and Tibbo have since moved up in the all-time rankings, to sixth and seventh, respectively.

Groleau has even more impressive history at the Oregon Preview: in 2023, she had the second-best 3000m time in school history, a mark that still stands. Livii Fetterley had the ninth-best shot put at that year's event. She has since shattered that mark and sits second in SU history in the shot put.

While there has been plenty of history at the Oregon Preview, the Redhawks have been just as impressive recently. Seattle U started the outdoor season at the PLU Open, where the Redhawks recorded five new all-time top-tens and ten new personal bests. Rachel Albright (hammer), Zachary Schriner (javelin), Jackson Jarrett (javelin), Hoku Matsushima (javelin), and Matthew Fiso (long jump) all made it into the program's all-time top ten in the first outdoor meet of the year.
