LAKEWOOD, WA - Seattle U baseball kept their winning streak rolling as they defeated Coppin State, 3-2, Sunday afternoon in Lakewood. The win completed a Redhawk sweep of the Eagles in the inaugural Seattle HBCU Series.
Unlike the previous two games in the series, Sunday was a low scoring affair. The Redhawks scored three runs on six hits, led by a 2-for-4, two RBI day from Reese Harmon. The only other player with a multi-hit game was Sebastian Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with a double.
Isaac Hallam (2-3) was the winner on the mound, securing the second of his freshman campaign. The righty went 5.1 IP and gave up just one earned while striking out seven. Patrick Galvin pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings before Kenny Ishikawa sealed the win in the 9th for his first save of the season.
The win moves the Redhawks to 8-11 on the season and extends the winning streak to five. They will have a quick turnaround as they host in state rival Gonzaga tomorrow, March 17.
