ST. GEORGE, Utah – Seattle University men's basketball closes out the Western Athletic Conference regular season on Saturday, March 8, facing off against Utah Tech. The Redhawks and Trailblazers will tip off at 7 p.m. Mountain Time, 6 p.m. Pacific from Burns Arena in St. George, Utah.

- Seattle U snapped a six-game road losing streak with a dominant 62-39 win at Southern Utah on Thursday.
- The Redhawks held the Thunderbirds to just three first-half field goals and a season-low 39 points.
- The Redhawks improved to 6-0 on the season when holding opponents under 60 in a game.
- With one regular season game remaining, the Redhawks are 12-17 overall and 7-8 in WAC play. That league mark puts them in a three-way tie for fourth place in the WAC standings headed into Saturday's round of games. There are just two games separating third place through seventh place heading into the final day of play.
- Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe had 16 points and 11 rebounds Thursday at Southern Utah, marking his 11th double-double of the season. That mark is now the most double-doubles in a season in Seattle U's modern DI era, surpassing Myles Carter's 10 during the 2018-19 season.
- Paris Dawson and Malek Gomma added 10 points apiece to give the Redhawks a trio of double-digit scorers on the night.
- Brayden Maldonado, a junior who spent his first two collegiate seasons at MSU-Denver, scored 2 points at SUU on Thursday and now enters Saturday's game at Utah Tech with 976 career points. He needs just 24 more to hit the 1,000-point marker.
- Already Seattle U's all-time leader in blocks, Kobe Williamson tallied two block at SUU Thursday, bringing his career total to 167 and counting.
- Maleek Arington had two steal at SUU, bringing his season total to 61. He sits at No. 9 on Seattle U's single-season top-10 list. Two Seattle U alums hold a tie for the No. 7 spot at 63. The all-time single-season record for steals is 84, held by Ray Brooks (1984-85).
- Kobe Williamson became Seattle University's all-time leader in games played on Thursday, Feb. 13 at Abilene Christian. The game against the Thunderbirds Thursday marked the 138th of Williamson's Redhawk career. He surpassed former teammate Riley Grigsby (2019-23) who finished his career with 133 games played.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS UTAH TECH
- This marks the 11th all-time meeting between Seattle U and Utah Tech (formerly Dixie State) with the Redhawks holding an 8-2 series lead.
- In this season's first meeting on Jan. 16 in Seattle, the Redhawks held Utah Tech to a season low 15 field goals in an 82-62 win. Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe paced the attack with 22 points and 15 rebounds, while John Christofilis added 12 points and Paris Dawson had 11.
- The Redhawks swept the home-and-home series last year and have won seven of the last eight meetings.
- In the last meeting in St. George, Utah, Kobe Williamson slammed home a putback dunk with one second remaining to seal a 66-65 win on Feb. 17, 2024
- The Redhawks won last season's first meeting, 70-53, in Seattle. John Christofilis had a career-high 32 points in the win.
- A neutral site affair during the 2006-07 season marked the first ever meeting between the two programs. The game, played on Dec. 29, 2006, was part of Seattle Pacific's Oak Harbor Freight Lines Classic. Seattle U won the match-up, 87-70.
