QUICK HITS
- The Redhawks snapped a three-game skid with a dominant 91-54 win over Tarleton State on Thursday, Feb. 6 at the Redhawk Center.
- The Redhawks are now 9-13 overall and 4-4 in league play.
- For only the fourth time in 50 games as a Redhawk, and the first time this season, John Christofilis came off the bench. But the move seemed to provide a spark as the junior guard poured in a team-high 19 points on 50% FG shooting.
- Brayden Maldonado added 18 points on 6-8 from three to go with six assists. DaSean Stevens, in his first start as a Redhawk, added 16 points and five rebounds.
- Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe chipped in 10 points to round out four Redhawks in double figures.
- Tarleton State entered the game among the nation's leaders in steals per game and forced turnovers, but the Redhawks dictated, matching a season low of six giveaways and allowing the Texans just four steals.
- Kobe Williamson has now appeared in 132 games during his Seattle U career, and now sits one away from matching the all-time games played leader Riley Grigsby (2019-23) who appeared in 133 games during his career.
- Vasja Pandža hit the 100-games-played marker on Jan. 30 at Grand Canyon.
- On Jan. 30 at GCU, Viktor Rajkovic returned from a 10-game absence due to injury and made his 98th career appearance as a Redhawk. His appearance on Thursday versus Tarleton marked his 99th appearance.
- Already Seattle U's all-time leader in blocks, Kobe Williamson tallied two blocks versus Tarleton State on Feb. 6, bringing his career total to 157 and counting.
- Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe remains at 10 double-doubles on the season, which matches the most collected in a season by a Redhawk since Myles Carter collected 10 during the 2018-19 season.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS UT ARLINGTON
- Seattle U and UT Arlington have seven previous meetings in program history with the Mavericks holding a slim 4-3 edge.
- The Mavericks have won the last three straight, including a 65-56 final in Arlington on Jan. 23, 2025. Seattle U would rally back to a tie game after trailing by 16, but they could not complete the comeback. Kobe Williamson had 13 points, Paris Dawson had 11 while Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe was held to nine points to go with 14 rebounds.
- UTA swept the home-and-home series last year, winning in Arlington before spoiling the Redhawks' senior day with an 82-62 win in Seattle on Feb. 29. Cameron Tyson poured in 32 points in his Redhawk Center finale, but no other Redhawk reached double figures.
- The Mavericks snapped a three-game Seattle U win streak on Jan. 13, winning 80-75 in Arlington. Seattle U got 22 points from John Christofilis and 21 from Alex Schumacher but were without Cameron Tyson for the game due to an ankle injury.
- Seattle U swept the home-and-home series last year, winning 76-61 in Arlington and 80-56 in the regular-season finale in Seattle.
- The teams had last faced off in a home-and-home series during the 2012-13 season. That season marked Seattle U's first in the Western Athletic Conference while the Mavericks were in the midst of a one-year stint in the league. Each team would win on the opposing team's court that year.
