LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Seattle University Redhawks finished fifth in their first action of the spring season with a team score of +43 across 54 holes. The Redhawks improved each round, from +16 in round one to +15 in round two to a +12 on the final day. This marks the fourth straight tournament that the Redhawks have finished in the top five in team score.
Rivekka Jumagulova finished tied for third, just five strokes off the lead and two strokes behind second place. Jumagulova finished at +4, with two rounds of +2 over, 74 and one even-par round. The senior would record 12 birdies across the 54 holes, include five in round two alone.
Tsara Ralamboarison finished in 12th overall at +9, her third consecutive tournament finishing in the top 15. Her best round came in round two, shooting a +1 over, 73 aided by two birdies. She would also record four more birdies in round three, aiding in her +3 over, 75 in that round.
Annika Cruz sank four birdies across 54 holes, ending the tournament at +16 overall. Her +2 over, 74 in round three was her lowest score of the tournament.
Jeanne Padillo finished close behind Cruz with a +17. The freshman bookended the weekend with +4 over, 76 and +5 over, 77 scores in rounds one and three. Aaryanna Morris shot a +22 overall, with +6 over, 78 scores in rounds one and two. Melissa Gilloz, competing as an individual, shot +25 overall.
The Redhawks are back in action next week, heading to Palm Desert, California for Mountain Classic Match Play. That competition will run three days, beginning February 10.
