SACRAMENTO – The Seattle University Redhawks returned to stroke play and finished seventh at the Causeway Invitational. The Redhawks finished at +24 as a team across 54 holes, with their best round a -1 in round two.
Annika Cruz had the best round of any Redhawk with a -3 under, 69 in round two. That was Cruz's best round of the season. The senior had five birdies that round, matching Tsara Ralamboarison for the most of any Redhawk in a single round. Ralamboarison also had five birdies in round two, shooting a -1 under, 71 in her best round of the weekend.
Rivekka Jumagulova shot par twice, in both of rounds one and two, before finishing the tournament with a +1 over, 73 in round three. Jumagulova finished ninth overall, the highest finish for any Redhawk. Eight times Jumagulova recorded a birdie, including three times in round three alone.
Jeanne Padillo had a consistent competition beginning with two rounds of +3 over, 75. She would finish the weekend strong with an even-par round three. In that final round, Padillo had three birdies, her most in a single round this week. Aaryanna Morris started the competition with her best round of the three, shooting a +4 over, 76.
The next competition for the Redhawks will be the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Arizona. That three-day competition will begin March 14.
