SEATTLE - Seattle University welcomed a new Redhawk to the family, announcing the signing of Xinzhe Xu to the women's tennis team. Xu will be a freshman beginning in the 2025-26 season.
"Signing Xinzhe is great news," said Head Coach Kristina Hollander. "I feel really good about how she is going to impact our depth and how we play. It's exciting for the future of our program to have her be a part of it."
A native of Hangzhou, China, Xu has had an illustrious tennis career thus far. She earned the mixed doubles championship for the province of Zheijang and was also the under-18 doubles champion for all of China in 2024. Xu played her club tennis with Star Tennis Club. In the China Junior 21 tournament, held in Shenzhen, Xu reached the round of 16. She has also made the round of 32 in the China Junior 11 Jiaxing J30 and China Junior 1 Wunning J100, competing in both those tournaments in 2024.
Xu is the second signee for the Redhawks that will join next season. She joins Kirkland-native Amina Avdic, who signed with the Redhawks in January of this year.
