QUICK HITS
- The Redhawks led WAC-leader Utah Valley 30-26 at the half in Orem, but the upset bid would fall short in a 61-55 loss at Utah Valley on Saturday, Feb. 22.
- With four regular season games remaining, the Redhawks are 10-16 overall and 5-7 in WAC play. That league mark puts them in seventh place in the WAC standings headed into this week's round of games.
- Paris Dawson led Seattle U with 18 points at Utah Valley, marking his 13 double digit output of the season.
- Maldonado, a junior who spent his first two collegiate seasons at MSU-Denver, enters Thursday's game versus California Baptist with 954 career points. He needs just 46 more to hit the 1,000-point marker.
- Already Seattle U's all-time leader in blocks, Kobe Williamson tallied three blocks at Utah Valley on Feb. 22, bringing his career total to 162 and counting.
- Maleek Arington had one steal at Utah Valley. Arington has 52 steals for the season entering Thursday's game versus CBU and sits four shy of entering Seattle U's top-10 list in the category.
- Kobe Williamson became Seattle University's all-time leader in games played on Thursday, Feb. 13 at Abilene Christian. The game against the Wolverines marked the 135th of Williamson's Redhawk career. He surpassed former teammate Riley Grigsby (2019-23) who finished his career with 133 games played.
- Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe sits at 10 double-doubles on the season, which matches the most collected in a season by a Redhawk since Myles Carter collected 10 during the 2018-19 season.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
- This marks the 16th all-time meeting between Seattle U and California Baptist with the Redhawks holding a 9-6 all-time advantage.
- The Redhawks have won eight of the last 11 meetings, with all three losses during that stretch coming in Riverside.
- CBU snapped a three-game Redhawk winning streak on Jan. 4 in Riverside, holding on for a 61-59 final. Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe had 18 points and 13 rebounds while Kobe Williamson added 10 points.
- Seattle U swept the home-and-home series last year, courtesy a game-winning bucket in each game. The Redhawks also won big, 81-57, in the WAC Tournament quarterfinals.
- In the 2023-24 season's first meeting, Seattle U ground out a 48-46 win in the Redhawk Center. The 46 points allowed tie Seattle U's season low, and are the lowest allowed to a DI opponent. Alex Schumacher scored the game-winner in the January 6, 2024 win, beating the final buzzer with a layup for the go-ahead points.
- Nearly a month later in Riverside, Kobe Williamson converted a putback layup and the and-1 free throw with seven seconds remaining to propel the Redhawks to a 61-60 win.
