OREM, Utah – Looking to hand Western Athletic Conference leader Utah Valley its first home loss of the season, Seattle University men's basketball held a halftime lead and led by seven with just under seven minutes remaining in the game. But the Redhawks would go cold down the stretch as the Wolverines finished on an 11-1 run and send Seattle U to a 61-55 defeat Saturday afternoon in the UCCU Center.

Paris Dawson led the Redhawks (10-16, 5-7 WAC) with 18 points, but no other player reached double figures on the day. Kobe Williamson had eight points and seven boards while Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe finished with six points and 10 rebounds.

Osiris Grady paced UVU (20-7, 12-1 WAC) with 17 points. Tanner Toolson added 13 as four Wolverines hit double figures.

The teams went back-and-forth in the first half before a 9-0 Seattle U run gave the Redhawks the largest lead of the frame, 28-22, with 1:35 on the clock. A flurry of threes, including two by Dawson and one by John Christofilis flipped the three-point deficit into a six-point advantage.

Neither side would hit a field goal the remainder of the half and the Redhawks took a 30-26 lead into the break.

The Redhawks would lead by as many as seven multiple times in the second half, including 52-45 at the 6:54 mark following five straight points by Dawson. But Seattle U would manage just one field goal from that point on and a pair of late turnovers thwarted opportunities to regain the lead. UVU would hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final 26 seconds to seal the win.

Seattle U returns home for the final time this season, hosting two key WAC contests at the Redhawk Center. First up with be a Thursday, Feb. 27 meeting with California Baptist.
