QUICK HITS

  • The Redhawks enter this week on a two-game skid after falling to both Abilene Christian and Tarleton State on the road last week.
  • With five regular season games remaining, the Redhawks are 10-15 overall and 5-6 in WAC play. That league mark puts them in fifth place in the WAC standings headed into Saturday's round of games.
  • John Christofilis had a team-high 15 points at Tarleton State, marking his 15th double-digit output of the season.
  • Joining Christofilis in double figures against the Texans were Kobe Williamson (14), Maleek Arington (10) and Brayden Maldonado (10).
  • Maldonado, a junior who spent his first two collegiate seasons at MSU-Denver, enters Saturday's game at Utah Valley with 948 career points. He needs just 52 more to hit the 1,000-point marker.
  • Already Seattle U's all-time leader in blocks, Kobe Williamson tallied two blocks at Tarleton State on Feb. 5, bringing his career total to 159 and counting.
  • Maleek Arington had six steals at Tarleton State, marking the second time this season the junior guard swiped a half dozen balls. Arington has 51 steals for the season entering Saturday's game at Utah Valley and sits five shy of entering Seattle U's top-10 list in the category.
  • Kobe Williamson became Seattle University's all-time leader in games played on Thursday, Feb. 13 at Abilene Christian. The game against the Wildcats marked the 134th of Williamson's Redhawk career. He surpassed former teammate Riley Grigsby (2019-23) who finished his career with 133 games played.
  • Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe sits at 10 double-doubles on the season, which matches the most collected in a season by a Redhawk since Myles Carter collected 10 during the 2018-19 season.

ABOUT THE SERIES VS UTAH VALLEY

  • Seattle U and Utah Valley are meeting for the 30th time, with the Wolverines holding a slight 15-14 edge in the all-time series.
  • UVU won in Seattle on Jan. 25, 2025. The Wolverines, then unbeaten in WAC play, retained their position behind 24 points from Carter Welling and 16 from Dominick Nelson. Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe tallied a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double to pace the Redhawks.
  • In 2023-24, the teams split the home-and-home series for the third consecutive year.
  • The teams each won at home last year as Seattle U claimed a 62-61 final on Jan. 26, 2024 in Seattle. Cameron Tyson had 16 points and Alex Schumacher added 15 in the win.
  • Utah Valley defended home court with a 78-72 win on Nov. 28, 2023. Seattle U led 35-34 at halftime, but the Wolverines got hot in the second half, shooting better than 52% from the field. Tyson led the Redhawks with 23 points while Schumacher added 21.
  • Recent years have seen exciting battles between the two sides, including a road win for both the Redhawks and Wolverines in 2022-23.
  • The recent two-game win streak for UVU was the first such streak for either side since 2019-20 season when the Redhawks swept the home-and-home, including a runaway 83-50 victory in the Redhawk Center (1/11/20) and an 87-85 overtime thriller in Orem, capped by a game-winning shot from Morgan Means.
