PULLMAN, Wash. – The Seattle University Redhawks fell 0-4 to Washington State in Pullman on Sunday. It was the second match in two days for the Redhawks, who fell 3-4 to Idaho yesterday in Moscow, Idaho.
The doubles point went down to the wire before Washington State took the point. The two teams split the matches on courts one and two, with Seattle U's duo of Liliya Dimova and Daria Nazarenko winning 6-2 on court two. That meant the point went to the winner on court three, where the duo of Lamija Avdic and Lola Tavcar took their first loss in doubles play of the spring, falling 5-7.
Three matches went unfinished in singles play. Avdic's match was in the second set, with the sophomore trailing 4-6, 3-4. Natalia Michta and Larissa Teramura each had their matches end in the first set: Michta was trailing 1-4, while Teramura was trailing 0-1.
Dimova, Tavcar, and Nazarenko all had competitive singles matches but ended up taking losses. Dimova fell 4-6 in set one, then 1-6 in set two. Tavcar fell 0-6, 3-6, while Nazarenko fell 3-6, 0-6.
