SEATTLE - Back lit with neon, Seattle U women's basketball (3-14, 0-4 WAC) plays host to UT Arlington (8-7, 3-1 WAC) on Thursday night at the Redhawk Center at 6 p.m. PT for its second home contest of 2025.
 
The Redhawks hold Neon Night, dripping out with bright colors with a chance to win a custom Redhawks neon sign. The first 120 fans through the door can grab some glow sticks to light up the Redhawk Center.
 
Freshman Candy Edokpaigbe retains her place as the WAC's lone freshman in the top-20 scoring. The guard is posting 11.0 points a game, shooting 54 percent from the floor. She makes 4.0 field goals a game, while bringing in 4.2 rebounds, including a team leading 2.2 offensive boards, a game. Edokpaigbe ranks fifth in the WAC in free throw percentage, making it to the line the fifth most of anyone in the conference. She's made 47 on the year. The freshman also comes in the top-15 in the league in steals, collecting 1.6 a game.
 
Three Redhawks rank amongst the top-20 rebounders in the conference this season, with graduate Christeina Bryan leading the way with 5.2 a game in 17 appearances. Both senior Sophie Benharouga and redshirt junior Tamia Stricklin also bring in 5.2 rebounds a game.
 
Stricklin has cracked into the top-15 in the WAC in made triples on the year, now leading the team with 21 in 16 appearances, averaging 1.3 a game. She's shooting 34.4 percent from deep and 39.5 percent from the floor, averaging 9.4 points a game. Following right behind is graduate Taisiya Kozlova, who has recorded 19 threes on the year in 15 games.
 
Redshirt sophomore Sheridan Liggett orchestrates the Redhawk offense, handing out 3.0 assists a game. The mark ranks her 11th in the WAC this season.
 
The Redhawks face the Mavericks for the seventh time in program history, dating back to their first meeting in 2013. Seattle U holds the 4-2 series edge, coming off an 81-77 victory over UTA in Seattle a season ago. The win was the first ever for the Redhawks on their home floor against the Mavericks.
 
UT Arlington comes off its first conference loss of the season after traveling to Utah Valley. The Mavericks are 1-7 on the road this season. Seattle U is in pursuit of its first conference win and second win at home of the season. 

Following Thursday's game, the Redhawks head back out on the road, traveling to Utah Valley for a 1 p.m. PT game against the Wolverines.
