SEATTLE - The Seattle University Redhawks announced the addition of Amina Avdic today, who will compete as a freshman beginning in the 2025-26 season. Avdic is the younger sister of current Redhawk Lamija Avdic.

"We are super excited to have Amina join the Redhawk family," said head coach Kristina Hollander. "She comes from a strong tennis family with a competitive background and will be an amazing addition to our team."

A native of Kirkland, Washington, Avdic comes to the Redhawks with an impressive resume. In 2024, she won the Washington state championship at the 3A level. She has won the USTA Pacific Northwest Sectionals multiple times and has multiple Level 3 and Level 4 national championships. In 2020, she reached the USTA Claremont Level 2 semifinals. In three consecutive years she has taken part in the Pacific Cup, from 2022 to 2024. Avdic also has earned the Team MVP award from Lake Washington High School.

The daughter of Samir and Nermina, Avdic comes from a strong tennis background. In addition to her sister Lamija, a standout for the Redhawks already, Avdic's two cousins, Nedim and Zehra Suko, each played for Washington.
