SEATTLE - The spring season begins this week with the Seattle University Redhawks going across town to face the Washington Huskies in the first match of 2025. The Redhawks and Huskies will face off on January 18 at 11:00 am at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. Admission is free for all fans.
This will be the second time this year that the Redhawks have competed at Washington, which also hosted ITA Northwest Regionals. At that event, Yuan Lu, Filip Stipic, Dario Ristovski, and Michael Frank all earned singles wins. Oliver Hall and Jayden Harrison reached the round of 32 in doubles play.
Seattle University's last spring matchup against Washington came in 2023. Ristovski, Stipic, , Frank, Harrison, Yu-Han Hsieh, and Veselin Kiselkov all competed in that match. The Redhawks earned two doubles wins in that match, with Kiselkov and Hsieh each winning with their pairs.
The Redhawks will remain in Washington for most of the 2025 season. After this match with Washington, the Redhawks host Gonzaga (January 25), Sacramento State (February 7), Oklahoma State (February 8), and Portland (February 15). Seattle University will face Gonzaga (March 1) and Eastern Washington (March 2) on the road before leaving the state for the first time for a March 9 matchup at Portland.
