- • Seattle U earned a 66-64 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday, Jan. 11, moving to 1-1 in conference play.
- • The win marked the first time in 10 games this season that the Redhawks had trailed at halftime and came back to win.
- • It also marked the first time in six games this season that the Redhawks won when the final score was within five points.
- • Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe scored the game-winning bucket with four seconds remaining. The graduate forward finished the night with 23 points, matching his career high. He added 11 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the year.
- • Moncrieffe is inching closer to the most double-doubles in a season by a Redhawk since Myles Carter collected 10 during the 2018-19 season.
- • Moncreiffe was named WAC Player and Newcomer of the Week for his performance against the Wildcats.
- • Already Seattle U's all-time leader in blocks, Williamson tallied one block versus Abilene Christian, bringing his career total to 152 and counting.
- • Paris Dawson had 12 points versus ACU and now has eight double-digit scoring outputs on the season, including in seven of the last 10 games. His season average of 10.9 ppg more than doubles his 2023-24 average of 5.1 ppg in nearly the same number of minutes per game.
ABOUT THE SERIES VS UTAH TECH
- • This marks the 10th all-time meeting between Seattle U and Utah Tech (formerly Dixie State) with the Redhawks holding a 7-2 series lead.
- • The Redhawks swept the home-and-home series last year and have won six of the last seven meetings.
- • In the last meeting, on Feb. 17, 2024 in St. George, Utah, Kobe Williamson slammed home a putback dunk with one second remaining to seal a 66-65 win.
- • The Redhawks won last season's first meeting, 70-53, in Seattle. John Christofilis had a career-high 32 points in the win.
- • A neutral site affair during the 2006-07 season marked the first ever meeting between the two programs. The game, played on Dec. 29, 2006, was part of Seattle Pacific's Oak Harbor Freight Lines Classic. Seattle U won the match-up, 87-70.
