ARLINGTON, Texas - Lamija Avdic and Liliya Dimova were named the WAC Doubles Players of the Month this year. Avdic and Dimova are the first Redhawks ever to qualify for ITA Conference Masters, set to begin November 7. Dimova will compete at ITA Conference Masters alongside Natalia Michta, as Avdic has withdrawn.
Avdic and Dimova earned that spot with a doubles championship at the WAC Fall Invitational. That duo went 3-0 at the WAC Fall Invitational and are undefeated playing as a doubles pair this year. Dimova is 6-3 overall in the fall season in doubles, while Avdic is 4-2 in doubles thus far.
This is Avdic's third career award for doubles from the WAC: she twice earned Doubles Player of the Week last season, both times alongside Lola Tavcar. Dimova earned the award once in 2023, alongside Elena Kraleva. Dimova also earned All-WAC Second Team in doubles as a freshman in the 2021-22 season.
ITA Conference Masters will begin November 7, with the four-day tournament wrapping up with doubles finals and consolation finals on November 10, all in Rome, Georgia.
