SEATTLE - The Seattle U women's basketball team plays two neutral site contests as part of the Talking Stick Resort Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Grand Canyon at the Global Credit Union Arena on November 29 and 30 at 11 a.m. PT. The Redhawks (1-4) meet East Texas A&M for the first time in program history and end the weekend against UC Santa Barbara.

SEATTLE - The Seattle U women's basketball team plays two neutral site contests as part of the Talking Stick Resort Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Grand Canyon at the Global Credit Union Arena on November 29 and 30 at 11 a.m. PT. The Redhawks (1-4) meet East Texas A&M for the first time in program history and end the weekend against UC Santa Barbara.
 
Seattle U comes off its first win of the season, downing Evergreen State 88-43 to improve to 14-0 all time against the Geoducks. Senior Sophie Benharouga and redshirt sophomore Olivia Moore recorded 17 points a piece in the largest margin of victory the Redhawks have posted over Evergreen State. In Benharouga's Redhawk debut, she shot 57.1 percent from the floor, while bringing in seven rebounds and two steals. Moore went perfect from deep, hitting 3-of-3 from behind the arc. 
 
Freshman Candy Edokpaigbe paces the Redhawks with 11.4 points per game after leading the scoring effort in three contests so far this season. She is shooting 57.9 percent from the floor, posting 4.4 FGM per game. The guard is averaging 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
 
Moore assists as one of SU's consistent scorers, posting 9.4 points, shooting 51.5 percent from the floor and 37.5 percent from deep. Graduate Christeina Bryan puts in the work down low, averaging 8.2 point, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. She is shooting 43.9 percent from the floor through five contests. Redshirt junior Tamia Stricklin follows just behind averaging 8.8 points and 5.3 rebounds through four games.
 
The Redhawks face East Texas A&M Commerce for the first time in program history on Friday, November 29 at 11 a.m. PT. The Lions are off to a 3-3 start this season and come off a win against Texas Southern in overtime. 
 
Conversely, it will be the seventh meeting between Seattle U and UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, November 30 at 11 a.m. PT. The Gauchos are 4-2 to start the season, coming off an overtime victory of their own over San Diego. The Redhawks lead the series 4-2 after winning the last three matchups. The two have not met since 2017, with the Redhawks defeating the Gauchos by six in Santa Barbara.

Following the weekend, the Redhawks travel to Tucson to meet Arizona on Tuesday, December 2.
