SEATTLE - A flurry of scoring through the opening twenty minutes bagged the Seattle U women's basketball team its largest margin of victory over Evergreen State and first win of the season, 88-43, at the Redhawk Center on Saturday afternoon.

Five Redhawks scored in double-digits, with redshirt sophomore Olivia Moore leading the charge with a career high 17 points. She knocked back seven of nine shots from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 clip from behind the arc. The transfer guard was also one of three Redhawks with three steals.

Senior Sophie Benharouga nearly met her career high in her first appearance with the Redhawks. The transfer forward also scored 17 off the bench, shooting 8 of 14 from the floor. She paced the team with seven rebounds and hauled in two steals.

Fellow senior Julianna Walker shot 50 percent from the deep to pace the team with four made threes, a new season high for the Washington native. She dished out five assists while bringing in four rebounds and two steals coming off the bench.

Graduate Christeina Bryan shot 50 percent from the floor, scoring 11 points in her fifth start. She led the team with seven rebounds, while posting four assists and three steals. Freshman Candy Edokpaigbe was four of five from the floor scoring 10 points in her fourth game in double-digits this season. She grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists while hitting perfect from beyond the arc.

All ten Redhawks that saw action scored in the 45 point victory over Evergreen State. The team shot 52.2 percent from the floor, holding the Geoducks to 25 percent shooting from the field and 11.1 percent from three. Seattle U's 11 threes was one shy of the fourth highest in team made threes in a game since returning to D-I. The Redhawks' 25 assists tied fifth highest in program history (in their recent modern era). The feat was last achieved in 2020.

Together the Redhawks took advantage of 22 Geoduck turnovers, scoring 33 points off of them. Of the 88 points scored on the day, 50 were generated by Redhawk reserves coming off the bench, with Moore and Benharouga accounting for half of them.

Through the opening ten minutes, the Redhawks shot 66.7 percent from three and 61.9 percent from the floor, scoring 33 in a quarter. The offense cooled slightly before half, with the Redhawks hitting three more shots from beyond the arc and shooting 8 of 18 from the floor. They took the 53-15 lead heading into the break. After a first half that saw a surge of threes, the second half switched narratives, with the Redhawks finding success working inside. They came out of the half shooting 55.6 percent from the field and closed out the final ten minutes hitting 41.2 percent from the floor.

In their last meeting, the Redhawks handed the Geoducks a 81-38 defeat in 2015, the now second highest margin of victory for Seattle U over Evergreen State. On Saturday, the Redhawks led by as many as 52 before ending the day up 45.

The Redhawks head out on the road for a two week stretch, first traveling to the Talking Stick Resort Thanksgiving Classic in Phoenix to take on both Texas A&M Commerce and UC Santa Barbara. Seattle U returns home on December 14 for a Saturday afternoon game against Weber State.
