SEATTLE - In hot pursuit of its first win of the season, the Seattle U women's basketball team (0-3) makes a trip down I-5 for a clash with the Portland Pilots (3-0) at the Chiles Center on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.

After freshman Candy Edokpaigbe led the charge for the Redhawks through opening weekend, graduates Taisiya Kozlova and Christeina Bryan took the scoring reins in Seattle U's home debut against Portland State. The pair combined for 32 points, each earning a respective career scoring night. Kozlova registered a new career high with 13 points, making her the fourth highest Redhawk scorer through three contests. Bryan tied a career high with 19 points to match Kozlova with 8.0 points per game through three games.

Bryan paces the team with 6.7 rebounds per game, including 2.3 offensive boards per game. Redshirt junior Tamia Stricklin follows suit with 5.5 rebounds per game in two appearances this season.

Edokpaigbe remains Seattle U's leading scorer, averaging 10.3 points per game, shooting 57.9 percent from the floor. She's dished out a combined four assists and corralled 4 total steals. Redshirt sophomore Sheridan Liggett is the Redhawks second double-digit scorer, netting 10 points per game. She leads the team with four made three pointers, while handing out 3.3 assists and taking 1.3 steals a game.

Redshirt sophomore Oliva Moore has two double-digit scoring efforts coming off the bench this year. The transfer guard has averaged 8.7 points and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field.

The Redhawks and Pilots square off for the 19th time in program history. The Pilots hold the series edge 7-11 dating back to their first meeting in the 1977-78 season. Since returning to the DI level, the Redhawks are 4-5 against Portland, holding a 2-2 record in Portland. Seattle U last defeated the Pilots in Portland in 2010 by three.

The Redhawks are in pursuit of their first win over the Pilots since downing Portland in Seattle by two in 2013. The last four contests have gone to the Pilots, including the most recent game in Seattle in 2023. The Pilots come off their second straight NCAA tournament appearance after defeating Gonzaga in back to back seasons in the WCC tournament final. This year, Portland has debuted 3-0, locking up two wins at home and its first road victory over the weekend.

The I-5 rivalry between the Redhawks and Pilots is set for November 19 at 6 p.m. at the Chiles Center on ESPN+. Following the quick trip down the interstate, the Redhawks return for a home game against Evergreen State on Saturday, November 23 at 1 p.m.
