SEATTLE - Coming off a victory in the Western Athletic Conference tournament championship game, Seattle U men's soccer has been selected to face Washington in the opening round of the NCAA men's soccer tournament. The match up, being hosted by the Huskies at Husky Soccer Stadium, is set for Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7:00pm PT.
This will be the seventh tournament appearance for the Redhawks since rejoining Division I play in 2009. It is also the first time in that span that Seattle U has made back-to-back appearances in the big dance, getting in with an at-large bid last season for the first time in program history.
The cross-town match up will be the 65th all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Huskies, and the second meeting this season. The Redhawks fell in the Fewing Cup back in early September, 1-2, at Husky Soccer Stadium.
A date with the 12-seed SMU Mustangs on Sunday in Dallas awaits the winner. That game would kick off at 11:00am PT.
