SEATTLE - Opening its season on the road, the Seattle U women's basketball team prepares to take its home floor for the first time this season on November 16 at 6 p.m., hosting Portland State (0-2) at the Redhawk Center.

The Redhawks (0-2) did not stray far from their home city for their season opener, traveling up town to Washington for a bout against the Huskies. They remained on the road through opening weekend, touching down in Huntsville, Texas for a meeting with Sam Houston.

In both contests, freshman Candy Edokpaigbe led the Redhawk scoring effort, scoring 11 in her first collegiate contest before following that up with a new season high 16 points against the Bearkats. She is one of three Redhawks to average double-digit scoring efforts through the first two games, leading the way with 13.5 points per game while shooting 71.4 percent from the floor.

Redshirt sophomores Sheridan Liggett and Olivia Moore scored the next highest on average through opening weekend, with Liggett averaging 11.0 points, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game shooting 44.4 percent from the field. Moore sits right behind with 10.5 points and 2.0 assists per game shooting 53.8 percent from the floor.

Both Liggett and Moore lead in threes, connecting two a piece from deep. The pair also came off career high scoring efforts against Sam Houston, Liggett posting 14 points and Moore netting 11 after breaking her previous high seen against Washington.

Graduate Christeina Bryan has been a wall low, hauling in a team leading 7.5 rebounds a game, while averaging 1.0 steals. Redshirt junior Tamia Stricklin sits just behind, averaging 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 points per game.

It's the 17th all-time meeting between Seattle U and Portland State, with the Redhawks holding the series lead 9-7 dating back to their first contest in 1978. Since returning to DI, the Redhawks have gone 6-5 against the Vikings while holding a 3-2 record at home. Portland State has grabbed the last three contests, including an overtime victory over the Redhawks in Seattle in 2022. The last two games have been decided by seven points.

The Vikings arrive at the Redhawk Center following a six point loss to San Francisco on Tuesday night as both teams look to make their way into the win column for the first time this season.

Following Saturday's contest, the Redhawks travel down the interstate to Portland for a head-to-head with their future WCC foe the Pilots on November 18 at 6 p.m.
