ARLINGTON, Texas - Seattle U men's soccer midfielder Richy Lapointe-Guevara has been named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference offices on Tuesday.
Lapointe-Guevara, a senior out of Montreal, Quebec, led the Redhawks to a 2-0 week to close out the regular season while adding two goals and one assist. He's scored all three of his goals this season in the last three weeks of play, also getting a last-second game-winner at California Baptist back in October. It is the first WAC weekly honor for him.
He joins Eiji Hata (defensive) and Taketo Onodera (offensive) as Redhawks to be named player of the week this season.
Seattle U will be back in action next Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the WAC tournament quarterfinals. They await the winner of the opening round matchup between Utah Tech and California Baptist.
