SEATTLE - The Seattle University Redhawks are back in action this weekend, taking part in the Emerald City Open. The race, taking place on Saturday, October 12, will see the men's 8k begin at 10:30 am and the women's 6k at 11:15 am. The race will take part at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle.

The men's 8k will begin at 10:30 am, with the women's 6k to follow at roughly 11:15 am.

This is the third race of the year for the Redhawks, who have also taken part in the Cougar Classic and in a dual race with Washington. The Redhawks have already put two new times in their all-time top-20 lists: Lilianne Hargreaves had the fourth-fastest 6k in Seattle University history (21:09), and Azalea Groleau had the sixth-fastest (21:17).

On the men's side, Jeremy Posdon narrowly missed putting up a new top-20 time, recording a 25:20 in the 8k. Alex Jensen shaved a minute off his personal best 8k as well, with a 25:57 at the Cougar Classic.

This will be the first time in program history that the Redhawks have raced at Woodland Park. It is the second race in Seattle this season for the Redhawks: the season began at Magnuson Park against Washington.

The Emerald City Open is the last of three straight races in Washington for the Redhawks. After this, Seattle University heads to California for the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara on October 19. The Redhawks will have just one more race in Washington this year: the NCAA West Regional, set to take part in Colfax on November 15.
