ARLINGTON, Texas - After an impressive start to the season, Rivekka Jumagulova has been named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Month. Jumagulova has been Seattle University's top finisher at all three tournaments thus far this year.
This is Jumagulova's sixth weekly or monthly award from the WAC and first of this season after earning Player of the Week twice last year. Jumagulova has also earned All-WAC yearly honors twice and was the WAC Player of the Year last season.
Jumagulova has earned one individual tournament win this season, taking the Harbottle Invitational. She has finished under par in five of eight rounds, including a -5 under 67 at the Harbottle Invitational that was the fifth-best single-round score in Seattle University history. Her -13 across 54 holes to win that tournament was the lowest 54-hole score in Redhawk history as well, besting her own previous record of -12.
Jumagulova now holds five of Seattle University's ten-best 54-hole totals to par and has seven of Seattle University's top-15 individual round scores to par. Through three 54-hole tournaments this season, Jumagulova has finished at +3, even par, and -13.
Next, the Redhawks will head to Portland for the Portland State Invitational. That two-day tournament will begin on October 14 at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
