SEATTLE - The Seattle University Redhawks will head out of state for the first time this season for this week's Bronco Invitational. The Redhawks will compete in Sunnyvale, California on October 19, with the race hosted by Santa Clara.

The men's 8k will begin at 8:45 am, with the women's 6k following at 9:30 am.

The Redhawks last raced on September 13 as a part of the Cougar Classic. At that race, Lilianne Hargreaves put up the fourth-fastest time in the 6k in Seattle University history at 21:09.8. Jeremy Posdon led the men with his time of 25:20.5 in the 8k, just missing etching his name in the Redhawk all-time top 20.

Two Redhawks also took part in the Emerald City Classic since then, Eli Perez and Alexzander Osorio.

Seattle University has not raced in the Bay Area since 2019, when they also took part in the Bronco Invitational in Sunnyvale. At that race, 12 Redhawks set new personal bests and Olivia Stein set a Redhawk record in the 6k. That record has since been broken by Groleau, who ran a 20:47 in 2023 to set a new record.

This will be the last tune up for the Redhawks before the WAC Championship, set for November 1 in Orem, Utah. The NCAA championships comes after that: the NCAA West Regional will be hosted in Colfax, Washington on November 15, with the NCAA Championship hosted in Madison, Wisconsin on November 23.
