Seattle U women's soccer defender Alana Lamb has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week for the week ending on Sep. 30, 2024. Lamb scored her first two collegiate goals in the Redhawks 3-1 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday.
"I am happy to see Alana get that recognition that she deserves," said head coach Julie Woodward of her defender. "One of the greatest things about her is the fact that she is such a hard-nosed, tough defender but also very technical and really great with the ball at her feet. She loves to get involved in the attack and it changes the game for us."
Lamb, a junior from Riverbank, Calif., scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 54th minute of the Redhawks conference opening win. She followed her first collegiate goal with another in the 72nd, securing the brace.
She is the second Redhawk to be named to TopDrawerSoccer's Team of the Week, joining Caroline Penner who was named after her 4-goal week back in early September.
Seattle U will be back in action this Thursday, Oct. 3, when they face Southern Utah in Cedar City. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Thunderbirds is scheduled for 3pm PT and will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.
