SEATTLE – After a five set heartbreaker in Abilene, the Seattle University volleyball team travels back to Texas looking to bounce back into the win column with a Thursday meeting with current conference front runner UT Arlington at 4 p.m. PT at College Park Center.

A number of Redhawks are among the program's Division I era leaderboard in numerous career statistical categories:
Senior outside hitter Arianna Bilby was named to the nine-member Preseason All-Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Team as voted on by the league's nine head coaches. An Arlington, Wash., native, Bilby is entering her senior season with the Redhawks. She is coming off of a standout junior season where she finished second in the WAC and 32nd in the nation in attacks per set (11.01) and third in the WAC in kills per set (3.56). She led the Redhawks in points and kills while recording 11 double-doubles and earning a trio of All-Tournament Team selections.

The Redhawks' four match road slate wraps with a trip up to Orem, Utah as the Redhawks revisit Utah Valley on Monday, Oct. 14 after the Wolverines took the match in Seattle 3-1. The is first of three held next week as the Redhawks host two bouts at the Redhawk Center on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 19. Matches will air live on ESPN+.

- Seattle U split its road contests last week, downing Tarleton State in four sets while falling to Abilene Christian in five. The win over the Texans was a program first.
- Arianna Bilby, posted her second 20 kill effort of the season in the five set defeat to the Wildcats. She added 13 digs to her 20 kills for her fourth double-double in a row. It's her sixth overall so far this year.
- Bilby leads the team and ranks eighth in the WAC with 3.15 kills per set and 170 total kills, while ranking third on the team in digs (137).
- Katlyn Sipes collected a new career high 29 digs in Thursday's win over Tarleton State. She added her 11th double digit dig performance on Saturday, leading the Redhawks with 15 against ACU.
- Sipes paces the team with 219 digs and ranks second in the WAC in digs per set (4.06).
- Elif Teksoy became just the sixth Redhawk in the program's modern Division I era to surpass 1,000 career assists when she passed the marker on Sept. 21 in a 3-0 win over Air Force. The redshirt sophomore enters Thursday's match with 1,187 career assists.
- Teksoy posted her second 40+ assists effort of the season, tallying 41 against ACU. She went for a career high five aces against Tarleton.
- Merima Smajlovic ranks fourth in the WAC and paces the team with 22 service aces (0.41 per set) after adding two more against ACU.
- Marley Hardgrave ranks eighth in the WAC with 1.05 blocks per set. Yasemin Elmas sits right behind at ninth with 0.90 blocks per set.
- Elmas paces the team with 47.0 total blocks on the season after posting 5.0 total blocks over the weekend.
- The Redhawks won their season opener, 3-2, over CSUN to give new Head Coach Dan Behnke his first win at the helm of the program.
- Merima Smajlovic was named to the Idaho State All-Tournament Team. The junior outside hitter averaged 2.92 kills and 3.0 digs per set while also tallying seven aces and five blocks over the three matches.
- Marley Hardgrave earned all-tournament honors at the Roadrunner Classic after collecting 13 total blocks over two matches. The junior middle blocker also hit an efficient .320.
- Seattle U closed out non-conference play with a 2-8 record. The Redhawks' wins came over CSUN and Air Force.
- The 2024 Redhawk squad features nine returning players and seven new faces.
- Seattle U trails the all-time series with UT Arlington: 1-4
- The Redhawks grabbed their first series win over the Mavericks on Nov. 8, 2012 behind a 3-2 decision at the Redhawk Center.
- The last meeting in Arlington was on Nov. 4, 2023, which resulted in a 3-0 decision for the Mavericks.
- UT Arlington rides a five match winning streak into Thursday night's contest. They are currently unbeaten in conference play at 4-0.
