ARLINGTON, TX - Seattle U men's soccer midfielder Eiji Hata was named the Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The junior from Kanagawa, Japan, sparked a comeback effort off the bench in the Redhawks 4-3 victory over CSUN on Friday. He set up the first two goals of the match for Seattle U, recording his first two assists in a Redhawk uniform.
Hata is the first Redhawk to take home a weekly conference honor this season and is the first defensive selection for SU since Kotaro Hirokawa was named during the week of Oct. 17, 2023.
