ARLINGTON, TX - Caroline Penner of Seattle U women's soccer has been named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The junior forward recorded four goals on the week, including a hat trick performance in a win over Oregon State on Sunday.
"Caroline has had such a tremendous season thus far," said head coach Julie Woodward. "She is such a fun player to watch and such a pure goal scorer."
This is the second time that Penner has been named the conference's offensive player of the week, with her being named last year during a week that also saw her score four goals and a hat trick in two games. She now leads the team in goals scored in 2024 at five and is tied with Utah Valley's Faith Webber for the most in the WAC.
She was also named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week for the first time in her collegiate career.
"Every time she sets foot on the field you can see the competitiveness in her eyes," Woodward added. "One of her greatest strengths is not only does she have the ability to change the game herself, but she makes the players around her better. She is so fun to watch. I am looking forward to seeing what she can do the remainder of this season."
Penner and the Redhawks are back in action this week when they kick off a stretch of six straight games away from Championship Field, starting with a trip south to face Portland on Thursday, Sep. 12.

Her second career hat trick powered us to our first ever win over Oregon State, so of course Caroline Penner gets the post match interview. #TogetherWeSoar pic.twitter.com/3cNa5LV7Di
