ORLANDO, FL - No. 23 Seattle U men's soccer battled to a draw, 1-1, with No. 19 Central Florida on Sunday. After the Knights scored in the final seconds in the first half, it was a goal from Edgar Leon in the second that split the points between the two top-25 opponents.
For Leon, a freshman out of East Wenatchee, Wash., it was his first collegiate goal, and it came in the 65' after the Knight's keeper tried to clear the ball into the middle of the pitch. Leon stepped into the passing lane and fired a shot into the back of the net to tie the game.
Seattle U would have another big opportunity in the match when they were awarded a penalty at the 79' mark. Yeider Zuluaga drew the foul inside of the box and set up the go-ahead goal chance for the Redhawks, but UCF made the save on the attempt and kept the match level.
Both sides had a flurry of chances in the final 10 minutes, but neither were able to find the game-winner as the game ended in a draw.
