SEATTLE – Seattle University women's basketball announced its 2024-25 schedule, a slate that includes 13 games at the Redhawk Center. The Redhawks will start the year on October 28 with an exhibition game against Saint Martin's in Seattle and officially open the season on Monday, Nov. 4.
This coming season will be Skyler Young's second at the helm as the Redhawks look to work their way up the standings in the Western Athletic Conference. This year's schedule includes four match-ups with NCAA Tournament teams from the 2023-24 season. The Redhawks will hit the road to face Portland (Nov. 19), Arizona (Dec. 2), and California Baptist (Feb. 27), with the Redhawks also hosting California Baptist on January 4.
"We have a challenging non-conference schedule ahead of us, which will prepare us for the always competitive WAC season," said Young. "Our goal is to improve by 1% every day, and we're excited about embracing the journey ahead day-by-day, staying focused on our standards and pushing each other to be the best team we can become this season."
Seattle U will tip off the regular season with two road games, heading across town to take on Washington on November 4, then traveling to Huntsville, Texas, for a match-up with Sam Houston on November 9.
The first regular season home game of the year will come against Portland State on November 16. The Redhawks will also host Evergreen State (Nov. 23), Weber State (December 14), and Kennesaw State (Dec. 16) in the non-conference season as a lead-up their final season of WAC play.
Conference play will see the Redhawks host eight games. The WAC season kicks off on January 4 against California Baptist. Seattle U also hosts Grand Canyon (Jan. 30), Abilene Christian (Feb. 13), Tarleton (Feb. 15), and Utah Valley (Feb. 22). The regular season will come to a close with two home games for the Redhawks, who will host Southern Utah (March 6) and Utah Tech (March 8) before heading to the conference tournament.
The WAC Tournament will once again be held in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena, starting on March 11.
