Women's Golf Earns Four WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Seattle U women's golf graduate student Azumi Arai, juniors Annika Cruz and Shayna Lu as well as sophomore Tsara Ralamboarison are among those honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as an All-American Scholar. The criteria for selection to the 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Seattle U women's golf graduate student Azumi Arai, juniors Annika Cruz and Shayna Lu as well as sophomore Tsara Ralamboarison are among those honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) as an All-American Scholar. The criteria for selection to the 2023-24 WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Arai finishes her career by claiming a WGCA All-American Scholar award all five years, while Lu (third) and Cruz (second) continue their academic excellence and Ralamboarison earns her first career WGCA award. 

Since Head Coach Marc Chandonnet took over the program in 2012-13, Seattle U has earned 42 WGCA All-American Scholars. The Redhawks have had at least two members named to the list since 2018 with seven taking home the award in both 2020 and 2021.

Women's golf posted the university's top team GPA (3.809) for the second straight quarter over the final session of the 2023-24 academic year. 

The WGCA All-American Scholars recognized a total of 1,497 women's collegiate golfers from 412 programs with the prestigious honor.
