SEATTLE – Seattle University athletics completed the spring term of the 2023-24 academic year with high academic marks as all 18 teams notched grade point averages over 3.0 in the term, while Redhawk student athletes recorded a collective 3.399 GPA.
This marks the 13th consecutive term that the collective student athlete population has recorded above a 3.30 GPA. 176 student athletes (57.7%) made the Dean's List (3.5+), while 87 Redhawks made the President's List with a 3.9 or higher GPA.
Redhawk student athletes also finished the 2023-24 academic year with a cumulative mark of 3.440, which was an increase from last year's 3.387.
Women's golf led the way for the second straight quarter with a 3.809 GPA, followed closely by women's tennis who finished with a 3.722. Men's tennis (3.678), softball (3.654) and women's soccer (3.602) rounded out the top five. Men's golf (3.595) and women's cross country (3.549) narrowly missed the top-5 as they rounded out the teams with a 3.5+ for the term.
Men's cross country (3.419), women's basketball (3.463), women's swimming (3.421), and volleyball (3.456) all finished with a 3.4 or higher average in the term.
Men's soccer (3.360), rowing (3.303), men's swimming (3.236), baseball (3.122), and men's basketball (3.051) all had solid terms as well.
A total of 58 Redhawks earned a 4.0 GPA for the quarter, while 56% of the student athletes recorded a GPA between a 3.5-4.0.
