SEATTLE – Seattle University men's basketball has received a commitment from 6-8 forward Ray Adams for the 2024-25 season. Adams joins the Redhawks as a freshman following a standout prep career at North Thurston High School in Lacey, Wash.

Adams was a two-sport athlete at North Thurston HS, starring in basketball and soccer. On the hardwood, he averaged 18.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game while leading the Rams to their first outright South Sound Conference championship since 2018. Adams was named SSC MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, along with being named to the 3A All-State Team and TNT All-Area Team, as the Rams advanced to the District Championship game.

"Ray has just begun to scratch the surface of his basketball abilities and has a unique combination of size, skill and versatility," said Head Coach Chris Victor. "His high character and love for the game make him a great fit for our program and we are very excited that he is a Redhawk."

As a junior in 2022-23, Adams was named First Team All-SSC and led North Thurston to the third round of the State Tournament - the first state appearance for the Rams since 2018. Adams also competed for a trio of club teams, including Team Anderson Elite, Northwest Greyhounds and Dream Vision.

Adams is the fifth new Redhawk announced for the 2024-25 season, joining forward Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Georgia) and guards Maleek Arington (Auburn, Wash./Idaho State), DaSean Stevens (Corona, Calif./Mt. San Jacinto College) and Brayden Maldonado (Anchorage, Alaska/MSU Denver).
