OREM, UT - Seattle U baseball dropped their opening game with Utah Valley, 3-9, Friday night in Utah. The Redhawks scored the first two runs of the night, but the Wolverines responded with big 4th and 8th innings to knock off SU.

OREM, UT - Seattle U baseball dropped their opening game with Utah Valley, 3-9, Friday night in Utah. The Redhawks scored the first two runs of the night, but the Wolverines responded with big 4th and 8th innings to knock off SU. 

The Redhawks scored e run in the second and third innings off the bats of Brandon Stinnett and Jackson Reed. They would then be held scoreless for the next five innings until Cole Kleckner drove in Mateo Zeppieri in the top of the 9th. 

Luke Alwood (1-5) was credited with the loss on the night after going 3 1/3 IP and giving up five earned. 

The loss drops the Redhawks to 13-32 overall on the season and to 6-16 in conference play. The series will wrap up tomorrow, with games two and three coming in doubleheader action at UCCU Ballpark. Game one is scheduled to start at 11:05am with game two following shortly after the conclusion of the first. Both games will be broadcast live on WACInternational.tv.
