BELLEVUE, WA - Seattle U baseball slugged their way to a senior day win over UT Arlington, 10-4, Sunday afternoon at Bannerwood Park. Seniors Grant Heiser, Derek Gellos, and Cameron Dayton all went long as they powered the Redhawks to the series win over the Mavericks.
Jarek Woodward also had a solid start on the mound, going 5 2/3 IP while giving up just three earned. He fell just one out short of a quality start, but still picked up his third win of the season. Kian Hogan, Ryan Morrison, Brady Liddle, and Ethan Brown all made appearances out of the pen as they helped secure the victory.
Heiser's home run in the 1st inning gave him his 17th of his career, tying him with fellow teammate Trevor Antonson for 3rd most in program history. Dayton got ahold of his first of the season in the 4th, while Gellos launched his fifth of 2024.
Another, more painful, milestone was also reached on the day in the bottom of the 6th Trevor Antonson was plunked for the 41st time in his career, giving him sole possesion of 1st all-time ion program history.
The win improved the Redhawks to 16-34 overall on the year and to 9-18 in Western Athletic Conference play. It also secured their third conference series win of the season.
