CLEVELAND – Seattle University men's basketball junior forward Kobe Williamson has been named to the 2024 Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (DI-AAA ADA) Scholar-Athlete Team.
Williamson, a Melbourne, Australia, native, enjoyed a breakout season on the court, averaging career highs of 8.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. During the year, he became the program's all-time leader in blocks and hit a pair of game-winning shots as the Redhawks earned a third consecutive 20-win season that culminated in the 2024 Ro College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Championship. In the classroom, he is pursuing his undergraduate degree in biochemistry.
This marks the third individual academic honor this season for Williamson. He was also named 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and the 2023-24 Western Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.
Basketball players from all Division I-AAA ADA member institutions are eligible to make the 11-member team. Each of the nominees is required to maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (4.00 scale) in undergraduate study and have been a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletics credentials. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games listed on the nomination form.
