STEPHENVILLE, TX - Seattle U baseball dropped game two of their series at Tarleton State, 2-6, Saturday afternoon in Texas. The Redhawks took a lead into the bottom of the 8th, but a 5-run inning from the Texans gave them the win.
Cameron Dayton gave Seattle U the early lead when he hit an RBI single in the top of the 1st. After the Texans responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the 1st, the Redhawks would reclaim the lead off of a Derek Gellos single in the 6th. The score would remain 2-1 in favor of SU until the 8th inning, where the home team scored five runs before eventually closing out the game in the next frame.
Peter Chronowski (0-4) was credited with loss on the day. The lefty went seven innings while giving up three earned runs. He was in line for the win after only giving up one earned through seven, but was responsible for the first two runners to score in the 8th inning for Tarleton State.
With the loss the Redhawks drop to 7-23 overall and to 3-8 in conference play. The loss also means they drop the series with the Texans, but will look to avoid the sweep in game three tomorrow. That game is scheduled for an 8:30am PT first pitch from Stephenville, with it being broadcast live on ESPN+.
