CORVALLIS, OR - Seattle U track and field traveled to Corvallis, Oregon to compete in the Oregon State High Performance Meet this Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27. The Redhawks persevered through difficult weather during the meet and showed impressive performances, including a handful of top 10 school record performances
Freshman JR Zamora continued to impress in the long jump earning himself a second place spot in school records with his mark of 6.56m at the meet. Zamora showed improvement from his previous outdoor personal best mark of 6.49m that he set at the OSU PNW Invitational on March 16.
Freshman Manthita Wague also impressed in the long jump, earning a sixth place spot in school records with her mark of 5.55m. Wague has shown continuous improvement with her marks in the long jump, beating her previous personal best outdoor mark 5.50m that she set at the Oregon Preview in March. Wague also performed well in the triple jump with her mark of 11.36m, earning a seventh place spot in school records and improving greatly from her previous outdoor personal best of 11.09m.
Sophomore Jocelyn Garcia earned herself a fourth place spot in school records in the women's 400m hurdles with her time of 1:06.39. Garcia showed significant improvement from her time of 1:10.80 in the event at the Oregon State High Performance Meet one year ago.
Senior Alex Franklin continued his notable season for the Redhawks, earning a fifth place spot in school records in men's 1500m with his time of 3:52.04. Franklin improved upon his previous personal best time of 3:53.30 that he set in the 2023 season.
Sophomore Livii Fetterley earned an eighth place spot in school records in the 200m with her time of 25.97, improving from her previous personal best of 26.21 that she set at the 2023 WAC Outdoor Championships.
The Redhawks set a total of 13 personal bests at the meet, bringing them to a total of 84 personal best set during the outdoor season so far.
