Tai Wilson ended up scoring that run after she opened the inning with a single up the middle. Mikee Morris put her into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt right before Wehn came to the plate.

Simpson was also strong in the circle, keeping the Texans off the board in every inning except for the fourth. The Seattle native allowed just one base-runner in the first, before using a six-four-three double play to end the second. Simpson sent the Texans down in order in the third and seventh as well as forcing a one-two-three double play to end the fifth.
