BELLEVUE, WA - Seattle U baseball fell in their series opener with Grand Canyon, 0-7, Friday night at Bannerwood Park. The Redhawk offense was held off of the scoreboard and limited to just four hits on the night.
"We didn't adjust to Richard's fastball and created no type of offense to create a competitive game," said head coach Donny Harrel. "Pitching was fine, but defensively we created runs by not making plays. Need to be better tomorrow. "
Luke Alwood (1-4) was credited with the loss on the mound for the Redhawks. The righty went five innings while giving up two earned runs on five hits.
The Redhawks now drop to 12-29 overall on the season and to 6-13 in conference play. They will look to even the series tomorrow, in game two of the three game set. First pitch from Bannerwood is scheduled for 11am PT.
