RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Seattle U softball (19-26, 11-9 WAC) concluded a three game series at California Baptist on Saturday afternoon, taking down the Lancers, 6-4. Nicola Simpson's solo home run and Sydney Frankenberger's two RBI single secured a Redhawks win in the series finale.The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) contests took place at John C. Funk Stadium on the campus of California Baptist in Riverside, California.
The Redhawks took the lead in third, scoring three runs on three hits. Sophia Kissling opened the inning with a single up the middle, before Sydney Frankenberger reached on a hard hit ball to second. Mikee Morris singled up the middle to load the bases right before Taylor Fitch came to the plate. Fitch went on to smoke a double down the right field line for two RBIs. Mikee Morris scored on the very next play, beating out a ball hit to first base.
Berkley Vance was solid over three innings, while Avari Morris grabbed her third win of the season after allowing just one hit over two innings. Stefanie Madrigal snatched her first save of the season, allowing just one earned run over two innings of work.
