ARLINGTON, TX - Jun Sasagawa and Julian Worn were named singles second team All-WAC, the conference announced Wednesday, April 17.
Sasagawa joined the Redhawks this season and quickly impressed, competing in the No. singles spot for the Redhawks for the majority of the season. A highlight of Sasagawa's singles play was his victory over Daniel Morozov (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) in the No. singles spot, an essential win in the Redhawks' 4-3 over Abilene Christian on March 30.
Worn competed in his senior season for the Redhawks this year after joining the team as a freshman in 2020. Worn also had an essential victory in the match win over Abilene Christian, defeating Cesar Barranquero (5-7, 6-2, 7-6) in the No. 3 singles spot.
